Precision Below the Surface — Comprehensive Marine Data for Safe Navigation and Smart Infrastructure

1.Core Service Description

Acurise delivers a full spectrum of marine survey services to port authorities, maritime developers, dredging contractors, offshore operators, and coastal infrastructure planners operating in the UAE and across the Arabian Gulf. Our marine survey capability integrates single-beam and multi-beam echo sounder (MBES) hydrography, side-scan sonar imaging, sub-bottom profiling, GNSS vessel positioning, and underwater inspection systems to provide comprehensive spatial intelligence of the subsea environment.

From detailed bathymetric surveys of port approaches and navigation channels to pre- and post-dredge volume calculations, pipeline and cable route surveys, and underwater structural inspection programs, Acurise brings the same commitment to precision and data integrity that defines our land and airborne survey services to every marine project we undertake.

With the Arabian Gulf’s strategic importance to global trade, energy infrastructure, and the UAE’s rapidly expanding coastal development program, the quality of marine spatial data has never been more consequential. Acurise ensures your marine data is accurate, current, and fit for purpose — whatever the application.

2.How Marine Surveys Work — and Why They Are Essential for Coastal and Maritime Development

Marine hydrographic surveys are conducted from survey vessels equipped with precisely calibrated acoustic sensors. Multi-beam echo sounders transmit fan-shaped acoustic pulses downward from the vessel’s hull, receiving the reflected returns from the seabed across a swath up to 12 times the water depth. Each return is converted into a depth measurement and assigned accurate geographic coordinates via integrated GNSS and motion reference unit (MRU) systems that compensate for vessel heave, pitch, and roll in real time.

The result is a dense, seamless bathymetric model of the seabed, from which navigable depths, seabed features, and potential hazards can be identified. Side-scan sonar complements this with high-resolution acoustic imagery of the seabed surface, enabling the identification of debris, rock outcrops, pipeline routes, and anchor damage. Sub-bottom profilers penetrate beneath the seabed to reveal sediment stratification and buried features relevant to foundation design and dredging assessment.

Underwater inspection of structures — quay walls, jetty piles, breakwaters, subsea pipelines, and outfalls — is conducted using remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) or diver-based inspection systems, delivering visual and dimensional records of structural condition below the waterline that inform maintenance decisions and asset life-cycle planning.
