Mobile Mapping
Continuous, High-Density Spatial Data — Captured in Motion, Delivered at Speed
1.Core Service Description
Our mobile mapping systems are equally effective on urban road networks, highway corridors, rail tracks, tunnels, and utility routes. Each survey pass delivers a centimeter-accurate, immersive 3D representation of the entire surveyed corridor — a permanent spatial record from which engineers, planners, and asset managers can extract measurements, conduct inspections, and derive map products long after the field crew has completed its work.
In a region experiencing the pace of infrastructure expansion seen across the UAE, the ability to rapidly capture accurate corridor data — minimizing lane closures, reducing fieldwork duration, and delivering comprehensive datasets within days — is a critical competitive advantage.
2.How Mobile Mapping Works — and Why It Is Redefining Corridor Survey
Traditional corridor surveys require surveyors to physically measure features on foot or from stationary positions, an approach that is time-consuming, creates safety risks on live roads, and yields data only along discrete sample lines. Mobile mapping replaces this with continuous, dense capture across the full width of the corridor simultaneously.
As the survey vehicle travels, the LiDAR sensors emit laser pulses at rates of hundreds of thousands of points per second, recording the precise 3D geometry of every surface within range — kerbs, road markings, signage, utility poles, building façades, overhead infrastructure. The GNSS/INS system tracks the vehicle’s position and orientation continuously, enabling every point to be assigned accurate real-world coordinates. The panoramic camera arrays simultaneously capture full-color spherical imagery, geo-tagged to match the point cloud
The integrated dataset allows engineers to perform measurements, clearance checks, and feature extraction from the office, dramatically reducing the need for return site visits. Updates to corridor records — previously requiring extensive remobilization — can be efficiently captured by simply re-running the mobile survey platform.
